Fantastic Handmade Button Mosaics

We just can't seem to get enough of artist Joe Black. Recently, we posted about his stunning child soldier piece and have since discovered more of his fantastic work. Playing off the same pointillistic effect, these pieces all use painted buttons to complete a larger image. However, a deeper and more interesting aspect of these portraits is that nearly all the buttons used were handmade by Black, and all relate to the work in one way or another. From images of Elvis and Disney, to German and British war imagery and pop culture icons, each work is made up of more than a thousand buttons. Amazing!
