Flourishing at the Most Inopportune Times

While most people begin a year-long project at the beginning of a new year, Madrid-based photographer Rebeca Cygnus has embarked on her 365 Project in November. Starting her photograph-a-day creative self-assignment, the young 19-year-old freelance photographer realizes the amount of effort and innovation it requires.

Cygnus says: “I have to take photos during the worst of storms, the coldest of days, the most inopportune of times. Through terrible sickness, through injury, through tears and lack of inspiration. All just because i want to be a great photographer.”

Her determination is inspiring, especially considering all she's gone through. Being that this is a project requiring an image every single day, Cygnus is often her own model, balancing this responsibility with her further studies in photography at Escuela TAI.

After only 22 days into the project, Cygnus has already caught our attention. We are eager to see what else this young photographer has coming up, especially after seeing the surreal images she is capable of creating, outside of the 365 Project. Be sure to check out the bulk of Cygnus' work at her Flickr photostream.
