Forgotten Dreams (23 pics)

Gehard Demetz is a 38- year-old mysterious sculptor. The only thing that we know about him is that he was born in Val Gardena, Italy, and that he lives in the mountains of Selva Gardena (BZ).

His marvelous wooden sculptures of children are eerily impressive. Their sad expressions are accentuated by the porcelain-like look of the wood, and the missing wooden parts of the sculptures reveal the truth - that life may be at moments superficial and seemingly happy-go-lucky, but nobody can hide from the past, nobody can escape their ghosts.
