Dream Homes Fixed Atop Skull Craniums

Danish artist Frodo Mikkelsen constructs intriguing silver-plated skulls with intricately detailed landscapes atop the cranium. The sculptor displays his monochromatic architectural landscapes in such a way that it is not simply a tray balancing on top of a round surface, but rather an extension of each skull. The interpretation behind the work is open for discussion though it seems to be a physical representation of one's own metaphoric dream house. A dream home is symbolic of one's greatest goals to reach a land of luxury, comfort, and carefree bliss so perhaps this is Mikkelson's way of presenting his own designed varieties of success emerging from one's mind.
