
Ryan Alexander created a generative processing software that simulates fungus. Instead of old, rotting vegetables, "Mycelium" uses photos as its food to create wonderfully intricate structures.
"Fungus" grows into the lighter areas of the image while avoiding their own trails. The amount of branches and the speed of growth are directly correlated to the brightness of the area within the picture.
