Giant Lit Up Polaroid Frames

With their vision of an ultra-flat, bright and uniformly illuminated lightwall, Jirko Bannas and Oliver Seltmann (who also call themselves The Lightboys) created the Polaboy, an intriguing take on the polaroid picture. The Polaboy is essentially a picture frame that supports large high-quality photographs and has an LED backlight that not only lights up the photo, but can also brighten up a drab room. You can choose a photo from their stock or even submit one of your own, which is awesome but pricier. Unfortunately, products this cool usually come with a pretty hefty price tag and with just the frame priced at $2,200, the Polaboy is no exception.

According to the Polaboy website, “[The Polaboys] are images which not only open up rooms, but also hearts and minds; images which are pure and true and free from artificial effects or filters. They express strength, peace and reassurance and stand for freedom, open spaces and passion. They invite you to explore and discover their rich detail, to lose yourself in them. They are images which make you feel you're in a special place and let you forget about your problems. Images with the power to move you.”
