Giant Rubber Duck Brings Happiness to Hong Kong

After we first wrote about the giant rubber duck that's floating around Hong Kong, we got in touch with the artist behind it, Florentijn Hofman, to ask him a quick question. What does he hope the locals get out of this huge art piece?

Hofman said, “The world is one through traveling or the Internet, all the water is ours and connects us, that same water could be our global bathtub.

“One family, we have to treasure that, look after each other, connect and communicate.

“The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!”

For this massive bird, photographers have been coming out in force, with Flickr photographers leading the pack. You can see a great selection of them, here. Below are a few of our favorite ones taken by Kalvin_T.

Hong Kong, enjoy him while you can! He'll only be around until June 9.
