While we're used to seeing photographers create "little planets" from a 360 degree panorama, this is the first time we've seen one incorporate the northern lights or the aurora borealis. During last week's incredible light show, Göran Strand of Östersund, Sweden, took a panoramic photo of the incredible northern lights and then wrapped it into a 360-degree composition, calling it "Planet Aurora."
It shows a lone photographer standing on a snowy circle, with trees around the edge and ripples of colorful lights glowing in the surrounding sky. "The promised aurora came at last," Strand said. "Me and a friend went out to capture the beauty, and what a show it was."
