The typical American child generates 67 pounds of lunch packaging waste each school year. After reading this statistic, Kimberly Castner, a Southern California mom, knew she had to make changes. She came up with the design for Go Green lunchbox, an insulated bento box.
Her daughters' elementary school used to generate a least 40 bags of trash everyday. Now that most of the kids use Go Green lunchboxes, it's down to 4 or 5 bags.

In addition to being good for the environment, these lunchboxes are a great way to pack healthy meals without the fear of spoilage, and the compartments make for great portion control.

You can check out their different styles and purchase them ($29.99) at
gogreenlunchbox.com. Castner donates $5 to a school or club for each box sold to a student.
