In Brooklyn a group of people were recently arrested for trying to repaint a bike lane that was recently removed. The usual lame excuses about limiting parking and hurting local businesses were used to justify removing the lane as if bike riders don't shop or something. The video includes the groups manifesto about the need for bike lanes to insure riders safety saying:

"Do not try to remove [bike lanes], or we will put them back for our own safety."

Yeah, it's a joke that in a city filled with cars like NYC the city would be doing something to discourage bike riding.
