I dig Peter Land's creative, funny, and deranged imagination. Born in Aarhus, Denmark in 1966, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and at Goldsmiths College in London. Currently he works with a variety of media from paintings, drawings, moving image and sculptural installations. He is primarily known for his video installations, which are simultaneously tragic and comic. Peter is especially interested in people's constant attempts (which often fail) to appear competent, relaxed and convincing in socially predetermined roles. If you find yourself in Finland, you can catch his exhibition at the Turku Art Museum's Darkroom until March 22, 2009.
