Spectacular Volcanic Smoke Surreally Wafts Over Mt. Bromo

Photographer Helminadia Jabur captures the remarkable, billowing emissions of Mount Bromo, an active volcano located on the Indonesian island of East Java. The photographer says, “The volcano is noted for its spectacular sunrises and majestic views all the way to Semeru volcano which is located further behind it.”

Despite being based in Doha, Qatar, Jabur has an unwavering passion for travel and landscape photography that keeps her on a never-ending journey across the globe. She admits, “Ever since I saw some images of the volcano, I just could not help myself to visit the area and capture it.”

Jabur's collection of images reflect the raw beauty of the landscape as it naturally fills the sky with color, accenting the environment that is already rich with texture. The photos exhibit a simultaneous sense of activity and serenity as the red and white smoke wafts over the terrain. There's a very surreal quality about the images that leaves the viewer in awe of the breathtaking expanse.
