In this series entitled Play Misty for Me, Indonesian photographer Hengki Koentjoro has really figured out how to visually represent emotion and mood through classic black and white images. Koentjoro’s bio says, “Photography is not just a way of expressing his most inner soul but also creating a window to the world where, through his pictures, the unseen and the unspoken can be grasped.”
By using only black and white, Koentjoro transforms these landscapes into abstract and elaborate patterns of shapes and tones. He transforms the everyday beauty of landscapes into wondrous moments and new experiences, allowing the viewer to see nature in fresh and unusual ways.

In fact, they make me think of some sort of primeval forest or lost world.
