New Banksy Mural in London Brings a Pruned Tree Back to Life With Green Paint

The north London neighborhood of Finsbury Park woke up to an artsy surprise on St. Patrick's Day. Elusive artist Banksy struck again, creating a mural on the side of an otherwise unremarkable building. Mostly made up of cleverly placed drips of green paint on a wall, the work interacts with a severely pruned tree in the foreground, making it look like it's been brought back to life.

Artist’s Playfully Striking Murals Cover Entire Façades, Adding a Pop of Whimsy to City Skylines

Street art has the ability to create a portal within a city. Italian artist Francesco Camillo Giorgino, better known as Millo, covers massive, multi-story buildings with murals of stylized metropolises, occupied by characters that are larger than skyscrapers. These cartoon-like illustrations imbue façades and billboards with a sense of whimsy that is otherwise missing from urban centers. Millo's distinct art stands out from the real setting it inhabits.

Banksy’s Real First Name Was Revealed by the Artist in Recently Uncovered 2003 Interview

Banksy’s style is known around the world and his works sell for millions at auctions. And yet, the elusive artist’s identity remains one of the biggest mysteries in contemporary art. Now, a recently uncovered interview appears to confirm the artist's first name. Banksy was interviewed by former BBC arts correspondent Nigel Wrench in summer 2003, regarding the opening of his Turf War show.
