Inside the World of Elderly Animals

Phyllis, Southdown Sheep, Age 13
We introduced you to some heartbreakingly beautiful photos of aging animals taken by Isa Leshko back in June and now the photographer is back with a new video that describes her inspiration behind the project. While you can see those magnificent shots and read our interview with Isa here, seeing it all come alive in this 5-minute video only makes it all the more meaningful.

Below are some images not previously shown on My Modern Met that Isa just sent us, along with the video itself, that was produced by Walley Films. My favorite lines? "Looking at mortality and aging, that's not easy subject material. Some of the subjects do seem sad and tired, some of them are downright defiant and stare down the camera. I think these images are testaments to survival and endurance, and finding meaning and joy in life in the face of physical limitations and challenges."
