Interactive Window Display is the Future (3 pics + video)

Another look into the future of advertising! A Minority Report-style interactive window concept has been spreading like wildfire online. Designed by some creative students from the school Hyper Island: Beatriz Areilza, Gustaf Engström, Lucas Lima and Marcus Wallander, the display lets online users upload their video, choose a background and the city they want it to showcase in. The video is activated by people walking by which, of course, will startle anyone.

How did this cool idea come about? "Our first inspiration was from a project called "My little piece of privacy" which in a very basic but intelligent way caught the attention of bypasses on the street," explains Gustaf Engström. "At the same time we got inspired by Kokokaka's site for Wrangler Bluebell and how captivating slow motion is in it's simplicity. It feels new even though the technique is old."

The concept was created for Aussie streetwear brand WeSC and the people in the window, dressed up in WeSC clothes are their "activists" or what they call "cool sponsored people within street art." What an awesome way to celebrate today's creative leaders!

So cool. I'd sit there and stare for a while.

I think that a lot of us have become numb to static advertising. Interactivity is definitely the next step.
