Couple Creates Epic Proposal Photos in Front of an Active Volcano in Hawaii

Weโ€™ve seen some unique proposals, but nothing quite like what Mark Stewart had in store. The photographer was vacationing in Hawaii with long-time girlfriend Olivia Post and planned the perfect scene to pop the big question. After setting up his camera for a time-lapse, he led her to the road just in front of the active Kilauea volcano and got down on one knee.

NASA Releases Closest-Ever Photos of the Sun Shot With the Parker Solar Probe

Since its original launch in 2018, NASAโ€™s Parker Solar Probe has completed several orbits around the sun, gradually moving closer and closer with each trip. In 2021, it became the first spacecraft to fly through the corona (the sunโ€™s upper atmosphere), facing what NASA calls โ€œbrutal heat and radiationโ€ for the sake of invaluable interstellar insights. But it was only late last year that the probe achieved one of its greatest feats to date.

Yancey Richardson Celebrates 30 Years With Stunning Photography Exhibition

In 1995, Yancey Richardson opened her eponymous gallery in New Yorkโ€™s SoHo neighborhood. It didnโ€™t take long for her to relocate to Chelsea, a neighborhood that, by then, many other gallerists had already flocked to. Over the course of the next three decades, Richardson managed to stage nearly 300 exhibitions, each zooming in on contemporary photography with unprecedented focus. Now, the gallery is marking 30 yearsโ€”all while getting its artists more involved than ever.

New 417-Megapixel Panorama of the Andromeda Galaxy Features Over 200 Million Stars

Ever since its launch in 1990, NASAโ€™s Hubble Space Telescope has greatly informed our understanding of the universe, capturing images of planets in our own solar system and galaxies billions of light-years away. But it was only earlier this year that the telescope accomplished one of its most stunning feats of astrophotography: a 417-megapixel panorama of the Andromeda galaxy. The Andromeda galaxy is among the closest to Earth, located 2.5 million light-years away from us.
