Rare Kaleidoscopic Glass Sculptures by Jack Storms

Being told that his unusual vision was impossible did not prevent Jack Storms from becoming an innovative artist. Instead, he was motivated to take on a rare, physically intense form of art, which gave him the opportunity to thrive as a world-renowned glass sculptor. Using lead crystal and diachronic glass, Storms creates one-of-a-kind, kaleidoscopic glass sculptures that are not easily forgotten. At a glance, his creations appear to be magical, rainbow-infused diamonds.

These colorful, crystal sculptures take an astonishing 18 weeks to produce, mainly because a unique cold-glass process is used. This remarkable process has prompted others to call Storms one of just three standout cold glass craftsmen in the United States.

By using everyday items such as baseball bats and wine glasses as inspiration for his pieces, the sculptor brings life to the angular, transparent glass that he works with. “Many people see cold worked glass as being very technical and distant from the human experience. I try to overcome that and seek to make a bridge from myself to the work. I strive to bring a sense of organic nature to all of my pieces,” states Storms.
