Breathtaking Cloud Formations Over the Mediterranean Sea

The aptly titled series Sea of Clouds by German photographer Jakob Wagner presents a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea from above. Each image features a spectacular view of cloud formations set against a shimmering backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea that seems almost alien or perhaps doctored. It's hard to believe that such beauty exists naturally.

The Dsseldorf-based freelance photographer's breathtaking images, taken from a unique perspective, have an abstract quality about them that is fascinating and, at times, confusing. Without an explanation, the viewer is initially left wondering whether the shot before them is of clouds or a foamy body of water. Is it air, water, or a combination? In any case, the conclusion is simple: the landscape is stunning.
