Amazingly Futuristic Examples of 3D Printed Food

Design and research company Freedom Of Creation specializes in 3D printing technologies. Developed by Janne Kyttanen in art school, the company has, since 2000, developed many innovative and successful products. One of those products is this prototype of 3D printed foods, including pasta, burgers, and even cereal.

The artist believes that the developed technology will eventually allow us to download files and print out combinations of molecules that result in the meals that we eat. Until that technology is achieved, Kyttanen has for now produced these plaster 3D models of sample foods in order to provide a tangible example of how the process might work. He says, “Food is the next frontier. We're already printing in chocolate, so a lot of these things will be possible in the next few years.” The exciting future of food is rapidly changing. Perhaps in a few years, we'll be running to the computer to make dinner!
