Skilled paper artist Jen Stark has a new set of colorful works that will visually mesmerize you. Her multilayered geometric creations have left us spellbound in the past, our gaze transfixed on the hypnotic assemblage of color and shapes, and the artist continues to present works that stimulate the senses through repetition, color, pattern, and an abundance of layers.
Working on a three-dimensional plane, Stark is always eager to provide as much visual information as possible. Whether she presents a sloping gradience in color or a wild arrangement of hues, each sculptural piece allows viewers to take the time to appreciate each carefully crafted layer. Stark works with unique patterns that are repeated and gradually change as one peers down the wormhole, reflecting the precision and diligence involved.
Several of Stark's artwork will be on display in a solo exhibition titled Vortextual at Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto, opening on July 5th.
