Cage and Mirror is a life-size circus cage designed to fit several people at a time by Copenhagen and Berlin-based artist Jeppe Hein. The architectural installation is equipped with a dangling mirror inside that transforms one's visual perception of the space. As the reflective circular plane rotates, it alters viewers' perspective of their surroundings into a dizzying ocular illusion.
Despite being made out of sturdy iron rods, the piece appears light and whimsical. Like a lined sketch of an igloo, the structure has a playful drawing-come-to-life appearance. Its lighthearted nature is further heightened by the illusionary addition of the mirror.
