With Foursquare being the new media darling these days, it only makes sense that advertisers are flocking to it to and experimenting with some creative ideas. The luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo has started a Trainer Hunt whereby you follow a pair of sneakers on a stylish journey around London. When the sneakers visit a venue near you, arrive at that destination before they leave and you get to pick a pair in the style and size of your choosing.
A rep for Jimmy Choo believes that this is “the first time Foursquare has been used to check in an object (rather than a person) at locations.”
Currently, this hunt is only going on in London. Check out Catchachoo (cute name!) on
Facebook for more details. Then, follow the trainers with
Foursquare or
Twitter.
Got to give it to Jimmy Choo for creating a branded treasure hunt! Now if only they could have done this with heir fabulous heels rather than their silly looking sneakers...
