If nothing else, a giraffe’s trademark would most likely be its impressive height. The creature stands as the world’s tallest mammal and can grow as tall as 19 feet. Their necks alone can stretch up to 6 feet, and newborn giraffes typically grow some 4 feet throughout their first year of life. Due to their height, though, a giraffe can sometimes be unwieldy, especially during a storm.

Punch (or Panchi, among the local crowd) is a baby monkey born in the Ichikawa City Zoo, near Tokyo. Sadly, he was rejected by his mother at birth. Sparing him from certain demise, the zoo caretakers looked after him.

Stingless Bees Have Become the First Insects To Gain Legal Rights

This may sound like the plot of the animated film Bee Movie, but some bees are now rights-bearing entities in real life. In late 2025 and early 2026, municipalities in the Peruvian Amazon granted legal rights to native stingless bees. No longer an entirely fictional concept, these bees can be legally represented by humans in court for their rights to thrive free from things like pesticides and habitat loss.
