Coloful Light Jars Illuminate Tiny Treasures

Put your tiny treasures and novelties on display by illuminating them in these clever Light Jars by Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær. Recently, at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair, Melvær displayed these pieces that focus on the “communicative potentials of objects as a means to create emotional bonds between object and user.” As you put whatever small items you choose into them, each jar is filled with personal meaning for each owner.

The tinted glass adds a certain charm to your already beloved items and, though the jar color and sizes vary, the actual neck size of each bottle is the same. The light source shining down from the top is camouflaged within a lid that resembles a power plug. This resemblance was an intentional design element by Melvær where she wants the viewer to, “consider the poetic notion of power transmission as a life-giving source.”
