This ad campaign for Plant for the Planet is totally original and eye-catching! Communications firm Leagas Delaney Hamburg developed the campaign to increase awareness and to help in fundraising for the non-profit group, which focuses on lowering CO2 emissions levels in the world and encourages the transition to 100% renewable energy.
The foundation of this particular campaign involves the talented Lorenzo Durán and his intricate leaf-cutting skills and techniques. We’ve seen some of the artist’s earlier work here, and he continues to impress us with these concepts based around environmental awareness.
To create his pieces, the Spanish artist first seeks out the perfect leaf to use as the canvas for each delicate design, and then prepares the leaf by washing, drying, and pressing it. He uses a sketch placed over the leaf as a guide as he meticulously cuts away bits of the leaf with a scalpel. I can only imagine how time-intense each carefully precise design requires. The final result is what you see here. I am super impressed by Duran’s incredibly steady hand and the patience that must go in to creating such amazingly delicate work!
