Beautifully Minimalist Luxury Yacht Made of Stacked Levels of Glass

California College of the Arts architecture student Lujac Desautel re-examines traditional yacht design with GLASS, a beautifully minimalist concept that utilizes stacked levels to create a sleek, sculptural form. Inspired by interlocking LEGO blocks as wall as the architecture of skyscrapers, the ship is organized vertically by three cubic volumes, allowing for the maximizing of living space for guests and crew members.

Thanks to the uniquely stacked superstructure and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a breathtaking view of the ocean can be seen from anywhere onboard. The interior, which features the same elegantly simple aesthetic as the exterior, promises a luxurious nautical journey for any seafaring travelers.

Desautel, who was nominated for “Young Designer of the Year” by Boat International Media, emphasizes the importance of glass in his design, which he calls a “reflective canvas to the sea.” He explains, “Light and ethereal or masculine and monumental, glass is the binary of the two opposites. Like a composer mastering the perfect composition; glass is a response to its context and ever-changing environment, maintaining essence of place through its architectural design, surface textures and sensitivity of material.”
