Magic Mosaic Cups - Damjan Stanković (4 pics)

Now here's a clever idea! Serbian designer Damjan Stanković has created this cool drinking glass called Cipher, which recognizes drinks. Pixels on the glass get filled in as a drink gets poured. Hidden in those looks random colored pixels is a word: milk, juice, coca-cola or coffee!

How does it work? "The pattern of shapes and empty spaces on the glass combined with the color of the liquid inside the glass end up forming a textual sign, revealing what exact drink or refreshment you are having, with each side of the glass reserved for a specific drink." Brilliant, if you ask me!

I absolutely support Martin's view point. The ultimate outcome is to look funny. We'd rather discover new aspects of Greek mythology through mosaic works. What looks cool isn't always good. Perhaps the most important benefit these glasses can offer is to seize the opportunity of accessing unique interpretations of the meaning and origin of mosaics. We should be the first to enjoy the splendours of recently discovered mosaics and take the pleasurable opportunity of having valuable mosaics in our homes.

I just love ingenious ideas that have no practical application whatsoever and simply seek to be fun.
