Motion Photographer Captures Liquids Flying in Mid-Air

Rather than delicately sipping her red wine, photographer Manon Wethly decided to toss a full glass in the air and document it. Originally a graphic designer and illustrator, the Belgium-based artist has recently turned her full attention to photography. And, she doesn't just toss red wine in the air. She throws all kinds of liquids up, clicking at just the right moment to capture the random shapes and vibrant streaks of color that soar across the blue skies.

The series originally started out as unique Instagram posts and has since grown into the project, entitled Flying Stuff. Wethly explains, “It is absolutely fascinating to see what kind of shape an object or liquid gets when it is ‘flying.' Clicking at exactly the right second most often brings the most spectacular and surprising results. Most of them are shot with iPhone but I started to practice with bigger guns too :)” Although the clean-up is probably not quite as enjoyable, it must be a lot of fun to throw so many things up in the air and watch them transform into these new and unique creations.
