Photographer Creates Spectacular Mini Thunderstorms with Tesla Sparks

Photographer Marc Simon Frei has embarked on an electrifying new series featuring spectacular sparks indoors. He's like a modern day Zeus, the way he generates bolts lightning, charging through each frame. The experimental photographer captures his energetic effect by arcing objects to a Tesla coil and quickly snapping shots of the dynamic moment when the wiry beams of electricity shoot out.

The remarkable visual effects of Frei's photographic and scientific experiments reveal a surge of lively reactions. Each photo is its own little energy storm being released as a fractal pattern of light. Frei even playfully adds his own manmade clouds into the mix, further accentuating the idea of a mini storm.
