Designed by Canadian architect Hongbo Lu, The "Flying Colors of Dubai" was the third place entry in the Zaabeel Park Tall Emblem Structure Competition. Hundreds of colorful flakes positioned around a curved elevator rise to a height of 525 feet (160m). The flakes act like little individual solar panels that not only provide shading, but also have the capability to generate electricity.
