My Modern Metropolis

Above-ground swimming pools have been the latest hot trend, and this one by Guz Architects knocks it out of the park! It almost looks like a modern moat, perfectly designed to house small sharks. Not only would it be amazing to look at, it would add an extra layer of security.

Located in Singapore, the Tangga House is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional courtyard house, with a stair and entry area forming the focal point of the project. The L-shaped plan encourages natural ventilation, while offering magnificent views of the open space.

Lushly planted roof gardens surround the house, making it feel that nature is evident inside and out. A large roof above the courtyard leads to the gardens and swimming pool, which wraps around two sides of the house.
