Surreal Shower Lights by Nendo

Designed for bathroom brand Axor, the WaterDream project is an installation that focuses on future bathroom scenarios and the possible products that may appear because of them. One such concept is a simple yet beautiful hybrid shower and lamp. While these surreal lights may not have the most practical design, they do present a rather unique scene that appears almost otherworldly. Like a magic trick, the shower light hides the path of the water by passing through the open shade before being released from the shower-head.

Created by Japanese studio Nendo, designer Oki Sato had this to say about the work: “My aim was to combine what is most archetypal about the living space, the lighting, with water, so as to give the shower an enhanced sensuous dimension in a way we have not yet seen before. The result is something that is not just a shower, nor just a lamp, but a hybrid – a magic trick with light and water that is available day after day.”
