New Mysterious Book Sculpture Pops Up in Edinburgh

The mysterious book sculptor strikes again! Remember those amazing book sculptures that an anonymous artist sent to libraries, bookshops and museums across Edinburgh? A new one has just popped up and this one is as whimsical as can be. A birds' nest made out of shredded pages of a book was just delivered to Leith Library and its Reader in Residence Emily Dodd with the words, “Libraries are special places.”

Inside, the book sculpture came with a note. It's a quote from A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh author, “It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?” At the end, the note reads, “In support of Libraries, Books, Words, Ideas. PREPARING TO FLY.”

Two years ago, the anonymous sculptor created 10 literary-themed sculptures. Photographer Chris Scott has captured these great pictures of the newest one.
