My Modern Metropolis

England born and based-photographer Dan Holdsworth uses extremely long exposure times to create incredibly intriguing scenes that straddle the line between documentary and fiction. In fact, he's known to shoot one scene for not just minutes or hours, but for days. He travels to the farthest reaches of the earth to capture landscapes that appear otherworldly and, at times, futuristic. Recurring themes include technology versus nature, hyper-modernity and spiritual drive.

From his page: "Holdsworth’s photographs recast the world with renewed mystifying power: as liminal spaces between reality and its dissolve. Each one a stolen moment, captured in the momentary blink of a shutter: beautiful, mesmerising, larger than life, and absolutely inexplicable."

The first photo's got fairy dust sprinkled over it.
