Spinning Airplane Art in Central Park

I'm all about everyday art in unexpected places so I was delighted to come across Paolo Pivi's new kinetic sculpture at Central Park. From now till August 26, 2012, check out How I Roll, a twin-engine Piper Seneca plane suspended on steel pillars above Doris C. Freedman Plaza at Fifth Avenue and 60th Street. According to the Public Art Fund, "the work captures Pivi’s fascination with highly engineered machines that are also capable of poetic transformation into captivating, artistic objects." Watch the video, below, to see it in action.
