Luke Shepard strung together over 2,000 images in a complex time-lapse manner to create this visually stunning video titled Le Flâneur. Setting the mood with music from XX, he shows us a side of Paris most of us have never seen.

What started as a project for his studies at the American University of Paris became an impressive undertaking. "There were many nights last spring that I got very little sleep," Shepard says. "I would often head out to shoot around midnight and get back home around six in the morning. The image sequences took hours to capture."

this is so. awesome.

the project is so unique, and the shots of the louvre were particularly breathtaking. seeing paris at night, with so few people around. it made me feel like it was a city made just for me :]

but of course, i have yet to go experience it in the touristy way in the first place (unless you count the time i went when i was 6, which i don't). i'll add this to my never-ending list of why i need to go to paris asap!
