Working in collaboration with creative studio 254forest, Belgian artist Pierre Debusschere directed and photographed an incredible editorial film, called The Day the World Went Away. The piece was created for the sixth issue of Under/Current magazine, an issue that draws inspiration from the world of sci-fi, technology, and the space age. This futuristic piece visually embraces many of those concepts and Under/Current says, "Rising photographer Pierre Debusschere, together with under/Current's fashion director Melina Nicolaide, unfolds a story based on a dark present-day panorama of turmoil."
Pulled from the captivating video, these mesmerizing animated gifs are filled with the trippy bursts of clouds and flames covering the strong bodies of models Yannick (Success Models) and Yumi (Dominique Models), as well as the flashes of light and choppy strobes that give the piece an ominous feeling.
In addition to the modeling and photography, the collaborators also included fashion by Melina Nicolaide, make-up and hair by Sofie van Bouwel, editing and visual effects by Pascal Oberlin, sound design and music by Frederic Ameel (254forest), voice by Valerie Leclercq (Half Asleep), and director assistant Ismael Moumin (254forest).
