Brides Are Personally Requesting This 9-Year-Old Wedding Photographer

Wedding photographer Regina Wyllie has a long and bright future ahead of her… especially due to the fact that she is only nine years old! The daughter of professional photographer Kevin Wyllie, Regina's “career” first began at the tender age of three, when she tagged along to a mountain bike race with her dad. Dropping her toy camera and grabbing her father’s Canon G9 she started to shoot pictures as the bikes sped past her. From then on, she questioned Kevin on the ins and outs of his occupation and slowly picked up on which buttons did what, slowly learning how to properly compose her frames and adjust her focus. Over time, this petite paparazzo has developed quite an artistic eye and is steadily building up her portfolio and client base, right alongside her proud pops.

Regina has become a welcome (and requested) addition to her father’s wedding shoots, as his clients take notice of her innate talent. The gifted youngster first received recognition for her portrait work when she was just seven years old, and an image she captured during one of her Dad’s “trash the dress” shoots was selected for a ThinkTank campaign. Today the 9-year-old often snaps pictures alongside her father, favoring a Fuji X-E1 and X-T1 in order to capture her sophisticated composites.

Kevin is thrilled to share his passion with an adorable sidekick, and is keen on slowly sharing his wisdom on the underlying principles of what makes for a good quality photograph. We’ve reached out to him and received some of Regina’s best shots, some taken during a beautifully documented wedding day others from a few photography jobs on the side, as well as a couple of the really young, really talented little photographer in action.
