Self Portraits: Dolce Vita Project

A real estate company that was building a luxurious villa, called Dolce Vita, asked Elle Muliarchyk to stay there while it was half-completed. During her stay, she took these amazing black and white portraits of herself in the space, using a self-timer.

"I stayed alone on the island for several days with almost no phone reception," said Muliarchyk. "And I shot myself there as if I lived there. It was really fun to be like Tom Hanks in Cast Away."

"Except that on the first day a closet fell down on me... It crushed me like the evil Witch was crushed by Dorothy's flying house in Wizard of Oz. And there was no food either, so for three days I was eating all the condiments and spices that were meant to be decorative - like dried paprikas and braids of garlic hanging in the kitchen. Just imagine, some millionaires live in this apartment now!"
