"Japanese artist Shoichiro Matsuoka’s silicon art pursues three-dimensional beauty by constituting optical fiber woven together simulating life like CG models. the optical fiber is woven on semi-transparent silicon based molds using a traditional
weaving technique from kyoto called 'nishijin'. The optical fibers glow quietly in a subtle manner, pulsing vibrantly and appearing to connote respiration."

Shoichiro Matsuoka’ silicon art exhibition at the +81gallery lab, in Tokyo on now until August 22nd, 2010.
