Sleepy Fox Found Taking a Peaceful Nap on Second-Story Ledge

Although it's not unusual to see foxes roaming out and about, to see one sleeping on a second-story window sill is certainly not a common sight. This adorable creature somehow scaled a townhouse in the London neighborhood of Notting Hill, and the stone ledge appears to be the perfect place for its undisturbed slumber.

Notting Hill resident, author, and editor Rachel Johnson snapped a couple of photos of the peaceful nap. Describing the scene to the Evening Standard, she explained, “It must have got up via the scaffolding on the house next door. People were coming out of their houses with telephoto cameras – but luckily no-one decided to shoot it! It was rather a sitting duck there on the ledge.” Foxes often run rampant around the neighborhood–they're always seen in the gardens–which can aggravate the residents. “But when I saw this one it was hard to feel the same sense of rage,” she said.

The sleepy animal spent most of the afternoon on the window sill, eventually moving on. How it got down, however, is unknown.
