What better way to start the new year than to explore LA's awesome museums and art galleries? The event runs every second Thursday of the month from noon to 9pm and is free to the public! There are over 40 participating venues including the MOCA, USC Windows, The Hive Gallery, Japanese American Museum, FIDM, 7+Fig Gallery, CRACK gallery, Crewest (urban art/graffiti), The Museum of Neon Art, LA Artcore, Gallery at REDCAT, Downtown Art Center Gallery, and Niche.LA Video Art. While you're there, you can also check out the local bars and shops including: The Edison (happy hour till 8pm), Rendezvous Lounge, Pitfire Pizza, Warung Cafe, Patina, Kendall's Brasserie, Loft Appeal, Pussy & Pooch Gallery, and Metropolis Books.
Shuttles:
Two FREE Art Walk shuttles move visitors around the Downtown Art Walk. One shuttle is a vintage retrofitted 1940s school bus, and the other is a luxurious limo bus, They are hosted by Kim Cooper and Richard Schave of Esotouric, who curate them as moving performance venues. The north/south Gallery Row shuttle is called “The Hippodrome,” and the east/west shuttle is called “Hazard’s Pavillon.”
