My Modern Metropolis

At the Story Hotel in Stockholm guests book their rooms online, pay in advance, and receive a code via email or text message that gives them access to their rooms. What could be simpler?

The hotel was designed by the Swedish firm Koncept (website here). It only opened this March and is already being considered for the European Hotel Design Awards.

They aimed to achieve a timeless feel -- mixing the old (such as the bare, worn concrete walls) with the new.
