Sunglasses That Convert Solar Energy into Electricity

Wear these Self Energy Converting Sunglasses designed by Hyun-Joong Kim and colleague Kwang-Seok Jeong and you will not only protect your eyes from harsh sun rays but you can also convert solar energy into electricity. The lenses of the glasses have dye solar cells, collecting energy and making it able to power your small devices through the power jack at the back of the frame. This electricity in turn could be used to charge your iPods, phones and other tiny gadgets. It's still in concept stages and we don't know yet when production will begin, but it's a great idea nonetheless.

But they don't protect your ears from harsh comments like "Jackass!" from random passer-by's: namely, me.

Ya...they aren't so pretty but I'm sure they could come up with a better design.

I wish they weren't so crazy looking...
