Super Chic! Inside a Vintage Modern San Diego House

Jonathan Segal is a 43 year old architect and developer who's been called a "mini Donald Trump with a conscience." Segal designs and builds smart, modern, and relatively eco-friendly rental units on undesirable lots in and around San Diego and then turns them over to his wife Wendy to manage. His current house, which he dubbed the Prospect, has been designed with a simple aesthetic in mind. Coolest part? The living/dining/kitchen is sheathed in dark Sapelli wood panels—including the ceiling. “There’s no drywall,” notes Segal. “It’s all supposed to feel like one big cabinet.”

Take a look at the pictures. There's this effortlessly cool vintage modern vibe going on that I totally dig.

Super chic indeed but is the wood laden room a homage to hometown hero Ron Burgundy?
