Can someone please tell me how I missed this fabulous editorial by Craig McDean for Vogue? Originally shot for Vogue's May 08 issue, McDean wanted to celebrate the power and glory of superhero style in honor of the Costume Institute's Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Running from May through September 2008, the exhibition featured approximately 60 ensembles including movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear to reveal how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body.
