My Modern Metropolis

Italian artist Nicoletta Ceccoli uses pastel colors to tell us a story of a melancholy world. Some common themes in her surreal works include loneliness, fear of abandonment, and apprehension about growing up. If her wonderfully whimsical paintings look familiar, you may have seem them in a children's book. Her work has appeared in over thirty of them around the world.

Just compare the visual aesthetic on this piece (http://www.manbottle.com/pictures/dead_characters.jpg) versus one of the artist's images above (in the boat).

Good call Jason. They're beautiful pictures but people should google Mark Ryden to see more of her work :)

When I see these images I can't help but think of Alice in Wonderland...
Amazing illustrations nonetheless! Thanks for sharing Marica! :)
