Take That Yelp! A Citysearch Revamp is in Beta...

Is a redesign and some better user experience functionalities enough to get Yelpers over back over to CitySearch? Check out what Citysearch is doing in beta right now.

The changes?:

1. Hyper-local content - You'll be able to search by neighborhood rather than by just city.
2. Hyper-social content - They're adopting Facebook Connect so you can login using your Facebook username and password. Then, your review will appear in your Facebook feed as an opt-in.
3. Three different reviews: one for the business owner, one for the Citysearch editor and one for the users.
4. A better mobile experience with an iPhone, Android and Blackberry app in the works.

Try it out in beta and let us know what you think. Will Yelpers migrate to Citysearch? Are Citysearchers different than Yelpers?
We shall see.

I think they have a great idea with the Facebook tie in. Integrating Facebook with Citysearch will get a lot of community-driven content it has been lacking due to Yelp.

I don't think Citysearch can really take away the users on Yelp since Yelpers are a breed of their own. I mean, seriously...how do some people have more than 2000 places they have reviewed? I don't think I've even been to 2000 different places in my lifetime.

It will be another avenue for reviews though so it'll be interesting to see the marketshare they grab with the new look.
