Talking Hands

Sometimes a person says something to us and we find it hard to believe them. Then another person says nothing at all, yet it's as if we can trust them with our darkest secrets. Body language is a powerful way of conveying messages. Our intuition responds to it a great deal more than to the spoken word. The hands are particularly expressive when it comes to non-verbal communication, hence, this is my humble attempt try to capture some of the non-spoken words artistically.

This series is a side product of me creating one self-portrait a day for a year in 2011. All self-portraits can be seen, here.

  • I think the first thing we all get to see in our lives is the pair of our mother's caring hands. I truely believe that therefore we are extremely sensitive to hand gestures as they remind us on that somehow subconsciously... Thx very much Stephen and Alyssa for stopping by and your comments!
  • Definitely moving. I love the style of the picture. It adds to the body language.
